Institute of Information & Communication Technology (IICT) is a registered Public Charitable Trust committed to improving the quality of life of rural communities through education, youth empowerment, health awareness, digital inclusion, and community development. The Trust works primarily in rural areas of South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, with a focus on ensuring that children, adolescents, and young people from economically disadvantaged families have access to quality learning opportunities and essential life skills.
The organisation promotes foundational education, digital literacy, skill development, career awareness, health and hygiene education, environmental awareness, and community participation. Special emphasis is placed on supporting first-generation learners, girls, students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), minority communities, and economically weaker households.
Through partnerships with schools, local communities, volunteers, and public institutions, the Trust aims to strengthen learning outcomes, encourage school retention, improve digital competencies, promote preventive health awareness, and build leadership among rural youth. The organisation follows the principles of transparency, accountability, and community participation in all its programmes.
The long-term vision of the Trust is to create inclusive, healthy, and educated rural communities by empowering young people with knowledge, skills, and opportunities that enable them to become confident, responsible, and self-reliant citizens.
